Outside of the Box at Z's

Restaurateurs around the world have worked hard in developing their culinary style and offer their delicacies to their patrons. Many of us appreciate the restaurant maintaining their consistency of dining. I know I can go to Creperie De Cluny for their incredible crepes on the west bank of Paris or filet mignon followed by a souffle at Bonaparte’s in Montreal or Rhodes’s Taverna Dimitris for their lemon soup or baklava. I can have the same meal today as I had five or ten years ago. Similarly, Z’s Gastro Bar in Quepos, Costa Rica has always been consistent with their delicious menu. When it comes to special groups, booking the restaurant or just a table, they will create a menu for the occasion. If you want to have chef Bonnie prepare a feast of your catch of the day, she will prepare a feast. A group coming to Manuel Antonio or Quepos, may it be a fishing tournament or a group from faraway places will dine on authentic Asian or Middle Eastern delicacy. Z’s steps up and delivers.

Z's Bar Goes National

Last Wednesday, March 27th Costa Rica Tourism came to Marina Pez Vela and tasted the new delicacies menu at Z’ Gastro Bar, with Channel 7 in tow. They tasted the menu and walked away elated and fully satisfied. Thank you Dean in representing our little corner of Costa Rica and making them wanting more of our little piece of Pura Vida!

Azuleo and Teva Add Flavor to the Heart of Manuel Antonio

Azuleo Restaurant, a taste of Morocco comes to the heart of Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica. Azuleo restaurant opened in December 2018, to tempt you with true Moroccan décor and cuisine adding another element to the worlds’ variety of restaurant choices in Manuel Antonio.
The design of the restaurant is modern, yet rustic, displaying the traditional, Moroccan ceramic tiles in bright colors and designs created by local craftsmen. The tajines (earthenware pots) and pottery utilized at the restaurant are also crafted by local craftsmen using traditional Moroccan techniques. The rest of the décor utilizes local woods and custom made chandeliers.

The First Annual Wing Rock Fest Thanks You!

The raffle winners were ecstatic to win wonderful prizes from our fabulous sponsors! Fabbody Total Wellness offered a buy one get one massage. Pura Sombra gave a tin of organic sunscreen that is locally made and reef safe. Costa Rica Escape Bus offered two free passes to the pirate escape room, The Crimson Storm. Mademoiselle Salon gave a free haircut, and the Jet Ski Boys offered a tour for up to four people on the Rich Coast Experience.

Wing Rock Fest Contestant: Olivier from Ocho Tejas Restaurant

Olivier was born and raised in San José where he studied theatre/acting at San José University. He’s an actor, a “clown”, a musician and he has a passion for cooking.

1st ANNUAL WING ROCK FEST

The all day event will include live music, food, a “Best Sauce Contest”, participated by many of your favorite restaurants and private caterers; a “Hot Wing Eating Contest”, free participation so sign up; a “Corn Hole Tournament” and many more activities.

At Carnicería y Pescadería Rancho Grande, the Customer Always Comes First

Rancho Grande offers a wide selection of chicken, pork, and beef cuts, prepared fresh every day. The chicken selection not only offers different cuts but also different daily marinades. Chicken livers are available via pre-order. Madelyn, one of the owners, explained that they also offer organic chicken. When asked about the difference between a regular whole chicken and an organic one, she indicated that the color of the chicken is different, it is much yellower than regular range. They offer pork primal cuts, such as roast, tenderloin, chops and ribs. Don’t forget to preorder your smoked ribs on Fridays and Saturdays before they are all gone! Also be sure to taste their fabulous chicharrones.

Treat Yourself to Cafetto

Cafetto has been in operation since December 2, 2015 and in June 2018 they moved to a bigger location, across the street from Centro Comercial La Garza, to serve their clientele. The coffee shop has a modern atmosphere, with free Wi-Fi and fans to cool you off on a hot day. Jorge, Steven, and Beatriz will ensure that you will keep coming back. I know I have. My preferred choices for breakfast are the fully loaded omelet or one with veggies and cheese with a bit of heat, served with tostadas.
