In April, the Ask Zipy team and members of the community of Quepos joined forces to develop a program for local and expat senior citizens.
On May 1, 2019 the first Seniors' Gathering was held at Chocolate Caffé and Patisserie located on the first floor of Hotel Papa’s Papalotes in Quepos, Costa Rica. An enthusiastic group was excited to listen to and observe Samuel demonstrate his bread making techniques, using only fresh and chemical free ingredients. Margarita and Mariel, bakers in training, assisted in the process. Samuel shared his secret of utilizing only natural ingredients in his ‘mother dough’ and his ‘sponge’ to bring his clients healthy treats. He indicated that many bread companies use chemicals in their bread, eliminating the nutrients and natural flavors of the ingredients. Many participants asked questions which Samuel was glad to answer. Later we all tasted his wonderful creations and fresh cas juice and had time to shop for coffee and treats.
After the demonstration, Samuel happily chatted with his audience while Kendri warmed up quiches and packaged treats to go. As the crowd was departing they were excited about the next event happening soon! Stay tuned for details and don't forget to tell your friends, parents, and loved ones to come along next time!
