FIND OUT WHAT MAKES CORCOVADO FAMOUS FOR BEING THE "AMAZON" OF COSTA RICA

Your adventure begins when we scoop you up from your hotel bright and early ? 5 am. Throughout the two hour drive along the Pacific Coast, your guide will fill you in on why National Geographic named this place the??Most Biologically Intense Place on Earth in Terms of Biodiversity?.

After a light breakfast (toast and eggs, fresh fruit, coffee or tea) we board the boat,?we will cruise 30km down the Sierpe River??? the largest wetlands of Costa Rica. The Terraba-Sierpe wetlands are home to a variety of animals and plant species.

During your boat ride, you will see large mangrove trees?? the largest mangrove system in Costa Rica. As for animals, you will see anything from iguanas, boa constrictors, American crocodiles to monkeys and birds.??And this is just on your way to the park!

Once inside the park, we will follow a Corcovado National Park certified guide throughout either San Pedrillo or Sirena Ranger Stations. What makes this tour special is access to the park-Specific guides.?Due to the wide variety of animals and vegetation, guides must be specifically certified for this park.?These guides will educate you on why this park is the most biologically dense place on the planet.

Your Manuel?s Tours guide will accompany you throughout the park. They will provide you with the scopes and adapters to capture high-quality photos. Make sure you bring your camera or cell phone! You don?t want to miss the opportunity to take professional-looking photos of these unique creatures and breathtaking scenery.

At both San Pedrillo and Sirena Station, you?ll be able to see plenty of wildlife. However,?if you are intent on seeing as many mammals as possible, go to Sirena. You may not see the elusive puma, but you will have a much higher chance of seeing them plus other mammals than at San Pedrillo. (If you?re looking for the ultimate Corcovado adventure, Sirena is hard to beat)

If you?re not dying to see mammals, San Pedrillo station is perfectly fine. You can see many birds and you still have a chance to see tapirs, sloths, monkeys, and other animals.

Corcovado National Park is rightly named as one of the most biodiverse places in the world, once you step off the boat you?ll see exactly why! Large American Crocodiles and Tapirs on the beach, several species of colorful tropical birds (Toucans, Trogons, Macaws), watching a herd of peccaries (saints) and observe the bull shark fins when it enters the Sirena river seems to be impossible to see in a single guided walk, but could be part of your Corcovado National Park experience with us, It is 2.5% of the biodiversity of the world. We cannot assure that you will live all possible experiences as this will depend on many factors such as weather, tides, moons and seasons. But certainly,?you will live a wild adventure!?

FIND OUT WHAT MAKES CORCOVADO FAMOUS FOR BEING THE "AMAZON" OF COSTA RICA

During the walk, you will discover?how impressive the natural world is.?As you look around, you will be surrounded by over 500 species of trees, including spectacular buttresses, large woody lianas, and intertwined herbaceous vines. It won?t be hard to spot?the incredible amount of wildlife.

After the first hike (don?t worry, it?s at a relaxed pace!),?we will stop for a Costa Rican lunch and facilities near the ranger stations (San Petrillo or Sirena)?then we begin the second trek (each hike takes around 2 hours)

We board the boat once again and head up the Sierpe River, during boat cruise you might see?humpback whales?(July to October),?dolphins, sea turtles, marine birds?and fantastic views of the southern pacific Osa coastline. Your guide will educate you on the mangrove trees and what makes them so important to the wetlands ecosystem.

Your Costa Rican wildlife adventure comes to a close as?we drive back from the river and drop you off at your hotel.?We guarantee your day will be one that you will never forget! We?ll make sure you have the perfect pictures to show family and friends back home!

To be sure, Corcovado isn?t for everyone. It?s one?of the most remote national parks in Costa Rica. Even day trips to this hot, humid, rainy park involve a certain level of discomfort and demand good physical conditions, keep in mind that the rainy season (May ? December) presents special hiking challenges due to slippery trails and swollen rivers. But for tropical wildlife watching,?it?s one of the most amazing destinations on the planet.
