I highly recommend Cafe Milagro just up the street, we ate there almost every day and they have live music every night from 7-9. The owners are from Colorado and super nice!
Best food and dessert in Manuel Antonio, period. On the slightly pricey side, but well worth it. Coconut pie is the best I've had anywhere. I got it to go the last night here.
We stayed in Manuel Antonio & Quepos for six nights, and ate at Cafe Milagro twelve times. We tried other places (some of which were good), and just kept coming back here. By far the best place we ate!
Every member of the staff we interacted with was very friendly, and they all spoke good to excellent English, which was helpful. They were also very patient with me as I tried to expand my meager Spanish skills and made requests in broken Spanish.
Every single thing we ate and drank here (and we covered a good chunk of the menu!) was absolutely delicious. Things we couldn't stop ordering: Moronada (blackberry lemonade), Patacones (fried green plantain cakes with guacamole & mango salsa), Ceviche (served with fried green plantain chips), Fish tacos (grilled fish, guacamole, red cabbage, pico de gallo), & Coffee flan (so, so good!). The menu is very vegan & gluten free friendly.
Adrienne (one of the owners) was very nice, and took time out to answer our questions about how she ended up in Manuel Antonio, share her passion for what she does (including her pickiness when sourcing fresh food), and just generally treat us really well (as well as everyone else we saw her interact with).
We absolutely loved our time in Manuel Antonio and are already making plans to return. Cafe Milagro will definitely be the first place we visit!
