Cartago canton is the capital of Cartago Province, here you will find history as you walk through town, as the colonial tradition which dates back to the time Costa Rica was discovered still remains in the style of the churches, homes and streets of this beautiful place.
Cartago is a T-shaped canton stretching southeast from its capital city to encompass a thin swatch of the Cordillera de Talamanca (Talamanca Mountain Range), and including portions of Pan American Highway, you will see a lot of trees around the area as well as birds.
