Hojancha is one of the 11 cantons in the Province of Guanacaste, it's named after a very common tree of the area that has a thick leaf or "hoja ancha".
Hojancha is located about two and a half hours or (300 km) from San Jose. The town is known for being very clean and safe.
If you are planning on visiting Hojancha, you can't miss the great spots near the area, such as Playa Carrillo, a stunning beach with white sand and beautiful palm trees.
You can't miss the Chorotega Matambú Indigenous Reserve which is very close to Hojancha, where you will be able to see the life and culture of the remaining indigenous communities, the beautiful handmade crafts and you can also visit the beautiful waterfalls.
