UNIVERSITY COUNCIL
General information
The University Council is the immediate body in the hierarchy to the University Assembly. Its main mission is to define the general institutional policies and to supervise the management of the University of Costa Rica.
It also fulfills other important functions for the good progress of this institution of higher education, such as: developing the policies indicated by the University Assembly, establishing the policies of allocation of funds, approving the annual budget of the University, and promulgating the general regulations of this house of higher studies.
This Collegiate Body carries out its work in both ordinary and extraordinary sessions, and its decisions are binding for the entire university community.
The functions of the University Council are established by the Organic Statute of the University of Costa Rica in its Article 30.
