Mundo Sin Plastic - Help us to collect plastic bottles to build houses

Hello Friends,

Did you know that poisoning our planet, our animals, our plants, is basically poisoning our food and, our Home?! 

Did you ever wonder where life-threatening illnesses are from?

To give you a global insight of how we are killing our planet, and what we are leaving to our children and our grand-children, here are some figures :
8 million ton of plastic end up in the ocean per year.
89 billion plastic bottles per year are sold, or 2 822 liters per second.
5 000 billion plastic bags are used per year, so around 10 million per minute !
1 billion non-recyclable straws thrown per day.
6,3 billion of plastic has been accumulated on our planet.
1,6 Million of Km of waste are floating in the sea between Japan and US, which corresponds to 3 times the size of France !

In consequence :
1,5 million of animals are killed per year by plastic. If not, they end in our stomachs, poisoned.
99% of the sea animals would ingest plastic by 2050. In 1960, only 5% were touched by this plague.

So, what our project is about ?
Coming from Germany, Andrea Froese is the inventor of the ECOTEC technique which consist of recycling PET plastic bottles, fulfilled with dirt, to use it as se material for construction. He led this concept construction project to build Houses in Honduras, Bolivia, Colombia, Mexico and Uganda.
His concept has been taking over since by other environmental friendly organizations, all over the world. 

So, why not in Costa Rica ?

To sum up the benefits recycling PET bottles to build houses, shelters, or schools :
- Twice more solid than concrete, specially in high risk earthquake area: 

- Low cost construction
- Non-brittle
- Absorbs abrupt shock loads
- Re-usable
- Less construction materials
- Easy to build
- Green construction: here we want to commit ourselves to no cutting any trees. And if for some technical or whatsover reason we do so, we'll do it only if we are able to plant new trees twice the amount of what we cut.

Now, we need to make this real. Please, help us to make this real !

We need volunteers to commit with their heart, to help us collect PET bottles. We need sponsors. We need to find a place to store the bottles. We need financial support for people we will need to build Houses (workers, transportation companies, lawyer, engineers etc..).

We are going to create events, collect events in Quepos and Manuel Antonio, beach cleaning events, and for that we would like to get as many people as we can to be the most efficient !
