Marina Pez Vela Hosts the 20th Anniversary of the Offshore World Championship

Marina Pez Vela, in Quepos Costa Rica, hosted the last two days of the four day fishing tournament for the 20th Anniversary of the Offshore World Championship. Forty-five boats from thirty-five countries participated in this prestigic event with the most Pacific Sailfish caught in one day (271) on April 29th.
Zipy was watching the marina staff hoist the large screen as some workers were bringing in the flags of the nations represented and the banners of the generous sponsors. Z’s restaurant staff was busy preparing the meal for the awards banquet and onlookers were buzzing around. The sky was clear and ocean relatively calm awaiting the end of a perfect tournament to toast Matti Olson and his crew of the Oregon Tuna Classic boat and to honor of the winners of the 20Th Offshore World Championship.
