When I first heard about the monthly events for Ladies Who Lunch, I was admittedly very skeptical. I said the word “luncheon” in my head over and over and could not get the image of Real Housewives out of my mind. I was not really sure where I would fit (if I even would) in any of the scenarios I had envisioned. Regardless, I figured it was worth a try.
I was welcomed with warm smiles and friendly new faces. The more that I talked to this eclectic group of ladies, the more I realized that we all share a common love: Costa Rica. Many of the ladies I had talked to have been coming to these luncheons for over three years, some since it started ten years ago. As we enjoyed the delicious food of Agua Azul in Manuel Antonio and laughed with the friendly staff, we shared our stories and our lives, like old friends.
I was amazed by so many unique stories of strength, courage, and hope as these ladies shared their backgrounds, reasons for moving to Costa Rica, life’s work, and desires for the future: every one of them at a different stage in their life. I had certainly entered a world of dynamic women from whom I will surely learn and grow.
To further show their kindness and devotion to each other, these ladies had prepared a special birthday celebration for one of their newest members, Donna. Welcome to Costa Rica and happy birthday, Donna!
Each event has an accessible set price which includes a drink, main dish, and a dessert with options for each. Ticas and Expats are welcome!
Please join us at OUR next event, December 20 at Victoria in Manuel Antonio. Don’t forget to bring a Secret Santa gift (maximum $10).
- Sincerely,
A new regular member of Ladies Who Lunch
