I could not be a happier little sloth. Recently I was surrounded by my friends and family, locals and expats alike, who came to celebrate my first birthday. Some friends even came as far away as Nicaragua to celebrate a year of trials, success, and helping the community be the best that it can be with flourishing local businesses and camaraderie.
We celebrated with a fabulous fashion show showcasing the unique bathing suit designs of Katia of Ummará. Her shop is located in the heart of Quepos, Costa Rica where she customizes bathing suits for any figure, gender, and taste. My mom bought me one and now I am the envy of all of the rainforest critters. Chris Lara, choreographer, stylist, and fashion designer worked hard to prepare the models and put together quite the show!
After that we all enjoyed a creamy, delectable cake made by Chocolate and fabulous, sparkling drinks for the toast made by Joyli's Wild Drinks!
When it was time for the toast to my first year, I felt pretty camara shy. My mom, Zina, did the talking for me. She is always so sweet like that! She thanked all of our friends for a great year and many more years to come and welcomed new friends. She also pointed out how awesome our Ask Zipy Team is, and how hard it works to bring you the best marketing and publicity possible.
Soon after, Zina made a huge announcement. She shared that on April 11, 2019 Ask Zipy joined 100 countries and was certified as a Good Deeds Day member. She explained that the Good Deeds Day occurs one day a year, however Ask Zipy is dedicated to work jointly with local groups to initiate a community senior citizen program for locals and expats that will last for many years to come. Zina indicated that a local group of chess players and chess champions would love to offer their time and expertise to the program. Adolfo, a member of the comite de deportes, also spoke and shared his excitement working with Costa Rican groups and Ask Zipy to make this dream a reality. Personally, I can't wait to get started!
My team and I would like to thank the vendors Pura Sombra, Baxter's Biscuitz, Cara Luna, Unicityjewels, and Souvenirs La Plaza for presenting their products. Special thanks to Z’s Pool Side for donating their delicious tapas, to Chocolate for making Zipy’s birthday cake, to Joyli's Wild Drinks for once again offering delicious libations and to Ruth for her delectable appetizers. Also, thanks to Chris Lara for modelling and choreographing the fashion show and to Katia for showcasing her beautiful swimwear.
Oh, and thanks to all of you who came to share in the celebration and to those who have played a role in Ask Zipy's success. Cheers to many more years of partnership and growth!
