In 1975, the grand Barba Roja Restaurant and Bar has opened its doors in Manuel Antonio. Throughout the years, Barba Roja became a multicultural hot spot of Manuel Antonio where locals, expats and tourists have gathered and keep on coming back.

Under new management, the restaurant has been newly renovated to ensure that the legacy continues. The owner indicated that his goal is to have a ‘place where everyone can hang out, enjoy great food, excellent happy hour and no other place with a sunset like this in Costa Rica’. With a new lounge area, enlarged Pirate Sushi Bar the friendly staff can more efficiently serve their patrons.

Barba Roja offers two menus, the restaurant menu and the bar menu. The spacious restaurant with an unobstructed view of the ocean offering live music during high season, with has an extensive menu including rib eye, coconut shrimp with mango sauce, grilled tuna with tarragon sauce; vegetarian burger and special fingers or pasta is available for children. To finish off a great meal, one can choose crème brulee or brownie with ice cream. Barba Roja continues to offer two – for - one burger Tuesdays and is proud to announce that their legendary smoked ribs are now on the menu, available daily. The Sushi bar has a large variety, “the best in town”.

The popular bar, offers the infamous burgers or share the wings or Nachos Barba Roja with friends. While watching sports on one of the many TV’s, listening to music or just hanging out, enjoy the choice of domestic, imported, draft or craft beer or their Quepos cooler or one of many special cocktails.
