Kids Saving The Rainforest (KSTR) was founded by two nine-year-olds in 1999 and has been working hard to save the rainforest of Manuel Antonio and its surrounding areas. KSTR has a MINAET licensed Wildlife Rescue Center and in 2010, KTSR rescued and rehabilitated 116 animals, having already released half of them.
KSTR has built 130 monkey bridges since 2001 to prevent monkeys and sloths from being hit by cars or electrocuted. At that time there were only 1200 Titi monkeys (of this sub-species) left in the world. There are now approximately 3500 Titi monkeys in our area!
Our Special Wildlife Tour is from 9 AM to 11 AM on Mondays, Weds, Fridays and Sundays. The tour is given by the tour guide in the Wildlife Sanctuary and includes a snack at the end of the tour. Bring a towel and bathing suit if you would like to swim in the beautiful swimming pool!
