Last Wednesday, March 27th Costa Rica Tourism came to Marina Pez Vela and tasted the new delicacies menu at Z’ Gastro Bar, with Channel 7 in tow. Lorraine is a Grand Master Bodybuilder and a personal trainer to Quepos athletes. Originally from Canada, she had honed her massage skills and was introduced to yoga there by a dear friend who insisted that she had the natural talent. She was certified as an instructor and now she shares her wisdom with her clients.
With over 10 years of experience in teaching yoga, Lorraine moved away from the traditional mindset and focuses on clients having fun while learning the 10 most important asanas, some of which they may have felt they could never do. She feels honored to be used as a vessel in the transformation of the inner self and as a result the outside will shine.

Sylvia addressed the crowd both optimistically and realistically expressing that tourism is down around 6,000 visitors less that the best year in the 1970s. Strikes, protests, and civil war in Central America have impacted the strength tourism to the area, yet we should not lose hope. In fact, just the opposite. Those of us in the tourism industry need to rally together to show the world the abundance of adventure, nature, and rich culture that Costa Rica has to offer. The ICT offers a community of support and camaraderie for my human friends in the industry. Meanwhile, I have been rallying my furry, feathered, and scaly friends to be extra cute, so that not even the most stoic of humans can resist coming to visit us and grinning from ear to ear with our wonder and magic.

Looking at the selection of treatments offered makes me want to ask for them all. A guest can choose many massage and body treatments, such as a Traditional Swedish massage, a Lymphatic Hot Stone massage or facial treatments. My favorite is the Anti-Aging treatment. Spa Rituals range from Costa Rican Spa treatments to Lomi Lomi, a Hawaiian special, to Detoxify by the Sea.

Marina Pez Vela was quite busy this past weekend with two tournaments, the 8th Annual Billfish Cup where team Game Plan was the winner of the big boat Cup and Gunner was the winner of the small boat Cup. The bragging rights stay here at Marina Pez Vela, so don’t forget to have a peek at the trophy at any one of the venues at the Marina.
Meanwhile, the 37th International BillFish Tournament of Club Amateur de Pesca finished their three day tournament at Marina Pez Vela, comprised of 14 teams with 52 participants. The grand winner was the boat Frenzy of Asoc.Nat.Pesca Deportiva, Guatemala.
The Marina Pez Vela staff did a great job hosting the events.

Come tourists and locals alike to Marina Pez Vela in Quepos, Costa Rica this weekend, March 14 – 16th and watch the excitement of the Billfish Tournament. It is one of three tournaments fully hosted by the marina where everybody participates. The 35 Marina individuals all work together to lead the teams responsible for the sponsorship, register the anglers, hand out the trophies, market the event, maintain the property, handle the technical side, and coordinate the event all like a well-oiled machine.

Azuleo Restaurant, a taste of Morocco comes to the heart of Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica. Azuleo restaurant opened in December 2018, to tempt you with true Moroccan décor and cuisine adding another element to the worlds’ variety of restaurant choices in Manuel Antonio.
The design of the restaurant is modern, yet rustic, displaying the traditional, Moroccan ceramic tiles in bright colors and designs created by local craftsmen. The tajines (earthenware pots) and pottery utilized at the restaurant are also crafted by local craftsmen using traditional Moroccan techniques. The rest of the décor utilizes local woods and custom made chandeliers.
